It will be an honor to represent independent publishing in Tucson, AZ for the second year in a row! I’m headed out there this week with along with Mr. Chicano Soul himself Art Meza, for the 2014 Tucson Festival of Books to help bring another dose of literary resistance and Chicano soul to inspire the kids to keep fighting and feeding their minds.
You can ban our books but you cannot ban our hearts. BSP is also proud to do a fundraiser for the John A. Valezuela Youth Center on Friday, March 14th. Don’t miss it!
We are set to bring Lowriting to Tucson! Boom! See you soon!
Friday March 14th: Lowriting Benefit for the John A. Valenzuela Youth Center
Join Art Meza, Lowriting photographer and Santino J. Rivera, publisher and owner of Broken Sword Publications, and many more for an evening of Chicana/o art, spoken word, food and a free car show.
The benefit will be a precursor to the Tucson Festival of Books, complete with a car show, food and a DJ.
The new book, Lowriting: Shots, Rides & Stories from the Chicano Soul, will be on sale at the event and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the John A. Valenzuela Youth Center.
