There’s a McDonald’s at Dachau
less than a mile from the actual concentration camp
where years ago they passed out leaflets that said:
“Welcome to Dachau
and welcome to McDonald’s”
welcome to McRe-Education
welcome McGlobalization
welcome to the New McWorld Order
would you like fries with that?
The Nazis stood for conformity
they stood for world domination
they stood for sameness
they stood for loyalty and identity
with easily recognizable symbols
and the corporate indoctrination
of the youth
the golden arches at Dachau
flying their flag high
is full of mothers and small children
and teenagers in “American” designer clothes
who are all consuming fast food
amalgamating themselves into the Reich
of Ronald McDonald
and lovin’ it
Low skilled immigrants work the counters and cook the meals
as everywhere else in the world, millions of people
do the same things
order the same products
wear the same clothes
and make the same people rich
they all salute the same flag
one nation, under conformity
with Happy Meals and Coke for all
carrying out what Hitler could not
through processed food and saturated fat
with concentrated sugar and high fructose corn syrup
instead of gas and firing squads
and none of it matters
And if we eat McDonald’s hamburgers
and potatoes for 1,000 years
we will become taller
our skin will become white
and our hair will be blond
or so they say…
there’s only one way to find out
